RDA and RNI

What is the difference between RDA and RNI?

AJR : Recommended daily allowance. This relates to the recommended amount of nutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, fats, dietary fibre) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals, fatty acids, etc) recommended for a given population.

ANC : Recommended nutritional intake. These nutritional recommendations vary as a function of age group and take into account the specific characteristics of each group: age, sex, growth phase (adolescence, pregnancy and breastfeeding, menopause, etc), physical activity.

RNIs are officially decided in France by AFSSAPS (French Agency for the Safety of Health Products) and were updated in 2002. However, in view of what is happening in other countries (European countries, US, Canada), it seems that some values have been under- or over-estimated.
